Gemma Parker-McKeon is the founder and principal of Gemma Parker Design, LLC, an interior design firm specializing in residential commissions, as well as custom product and furnishings.  Prior to forming Gemma Parker Design, Gemma was the Director of Interiors for Lichten Craig’s New York and Chicago offices. During her eight years with the firm, Gemma was involved in all aspects of the design process and was responsible for project design and management. Gemma's understanding of textiles, style and scale coupled with her rigorous and impeccable project management creates beautifully designed and orchestrated projects. Gemma’s focus is on a collaborative relationship with clients both old and new - delivering projects that reflect their personalities and their lifestyles.  Gemma brings a diverse background and unique perspective to interior design. She graduated with honor from Michigan State University with a dual degree in Communication and Psychology.  Following these degrees, she graduated with merit from Inchbald School of Design in London where she was honored with the Inchbald Design Award. She also has a degree from Harrington College of Design, where she graduated with high honors and received a Distinguished Alumni Award in December 2012.  Throughout her career, Gemma has collaborated with clients both nationally and internationally, including London, New York, Illinois, Michigan and Wyoming. Her work has been featured in numerous magazines and books, including Traditional Home, Modern Luxury Interiors, and Linda O’Keeffe’s “Stripes” book. Gemma was recently recognized in Modern Luxury Interiors Winter/Spring 2016 "Best of Design" issue where she won the award for Best Nursery. Additionally, her work also includes ASID award winning projects: First Place for Recreational Facilities Design 2014, Showcase Room 2011, Residential Work over 3000 SF in 2010 and First Place for Showcase Room 2008.   The firm was awarded Best of Houzz 2016 for Design & Best of Houzz 2016 for Service, by the Houzz Community. The prestigious Best of Design award is given to those whose work is deemed the most popular among more than 35 million monthly users on Houzz. The firm's top reviews from clients earned them the Best of Houzz Service award. Gemma also received the prestigious Ones to Watch award in 2013, which was presented by the Merchandise Mart of Chicago, an award that identifies rising stars in the design industry.
